Teyana Taylor has just release her new video featuring the legendary Elton John in the self-directed video for ‘Lose Each Other’ off her latest project, The Album.

It was an emotional conversation on Instagram Live today as Teyana Taylor spoke with Elton John about their new video but all  Elton John could do was praised Teyana’s talents and how she was an artist who he admired. The collab came together easily being as though Elton John has been a Teyana fan since 2018’s K.T.S.E. and she was a guest on his “Rocket Hour” show on Apple Music.

It was a no-brainer for me. I love you,” Elton John told Teyana of making the decision to appear in her music video. “I love what you do. I love how you sing. You are, for me, one of the most exciting artists of the whole last three or four years. For me, it was a personal honor that you reached out to me to be in the video. I had no hesitation because I love you very, very much.”

Being as though, Teyana directed ‘Lose Each Other’ the visual of course had to have Elton John open the video on the piano! The video was filmed prior to the birth of her newborn daughter Rue Rose, Teyana proudly showed off her baby bump throughout the video. Something simple, yet powerful.

Teyana Taylor released The Album on Juneteenth of this year. The LP features collaborations with Erykah Badu, Missy Elliott, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Rick Ross, Kehlani, Future, Quavo, and Big Sean. Following the release of her album, Taylor was awarded Video Director of the Year at the 2020 BET Awards.
