Mike Knox, was born and raised in North Philadelphia. At the age e of 15, he left home and began to hustle in the streets as a way to provide for himself and never look back. Over the course of years, Mike has spent time in and out of jail from county to state. He started rapping after being shot as a way to musically express himself.
Soon, Mike started getting known through his music in the city by Power 99 Fm’s Cosmic Kev playing his music on air. Additionally, Mike met G Unit’s Tony Yayo and became great friends along with the rest of G Unit. Growing up, Mike was heavily musicially influence by KRS 1, Rakim, Jay Z, and 50 Cent so It only made sense that he made his dreams a reality with the remaining group members.
Right after signing to the popular label, Mike was sent away to federal prison in 2012 for seven years and was released in 2019. Currently, Mike Knox is still with G Unit records and started his own independent label entitled Free Lane Entertainment.
Recently, Mike Knox dropped his new single and official video “BackBlock” from his newly released “The Motivation 2″ Album. Mike is passionate about spreading his message on being truly passionate about his city and where he came from, and what he expresses in his music. He wants people to see the good and the bad and gain something from the decisions he’s made and to never give up on what you’re pushing to be in life.
