Filmmaker Tyler Perry is known for being generous in times of disparity, largely in part due to his own humble beginnings. While the world is currently being battered by the relentless coronavirus pandemic, the “Madea” creator has shown up and showed out yet again, this time coming to the rescue for 42 out-of-work servers in Atlanta.
This past Sunday, the 50-year-old movie mogul visited a Houston’s restaurant in Atlanta. While there, he surprised each of the servers with a $500 tip, which came out to a staggering total of $21,000, according to TMZ,
Houston’s, like most restaurants across the country, were forced to scale down their operations in an effort to slow the spread of the deadly virus, only offering take-out orders. This means that servers who heavily rely on tips from patrons who dine in are not being paid, so Mr. Perry showed up at the perfect time.
