Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia is Trve, a creative young emcee and singer who’s showing his depths through “pain music”. Pain has always been a main ingredient in hip-hop since it’s genesis. In recent years, that fact has been exploited to form a new subgenre within the culture known as “pain music”. Some of the artists using this sound lean heavily on trap influences, but the true pioneers of the style such as Juice Wrld, XXXtentacion, & their peers have found a way to blend that modern rap flavor with classic punk and metal accents. This meeting point is where artists like Trve triumph and are able to find their base. With songs ranging from topics of depression, alcoholism, and self-esteem, Trve is his own biggest critic yet still his lone most devoted supporter. These challenging stories, and the ability to tell them fluidly through songs are what make pain it’s own product in the hip-hop community today.
