Abel has unearthed all of the satisfyingly morbid details of his forthcoming album and we are ready.
The Weeknd released the ‘Joker’ inspired cover for his album ‘After Hours,’ which shows him sporting a menacing grin adorned in blood as he wears his now signature red blazer. The album will be released on March 20th and features his latest platinum-certified hits “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights,” as well as his newly released title track. Wednesday morning when the track dropped, fans quickly took to social media to speculate that the lyrics were expressive of his regrets regarding the breakup between he and model Bella Hadid, who’s on and off romance has played out publicly since 2016.
The Weeknd has been working the first two singles with appearances on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” On March 7th he will also take his talents to “Saturday Night Live” on March 7th in anticipation of the project.
This is his first full body of work since last year’s six track EP ‘My Dear Melancholy’ and his first full album since his 2016 multi-platinum selling album, ‘Starboy,’ which earned him a Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards.
