Surfa Solo is back with a brand new project and this time he’s putting all his talents on display. His newest project ‘Ice City’ just dropped and is everything that audiences expect it to be. The rapper showcases his skills on this 7-track project, where he shows off his lyrical skills while the ability to make a bop to any beat. The project is a must-listen, and definitely places Surfa as someone to keep an eye on.

He opens his latest project, Ice City, with his lead single “Straitjacket,” — the song is electrifying and eccentric. Surfa Solo takes you on a chaotic journey of his intimate life as he details the woman he’s dealing with has a sex game so “crazy” that it needs a “Straitjacket.” The song is also the first official visual for the project, starring Surfa Solo going crazy in an abandoned building with a sexy nurse keeping him company in a straitjacket. The track features a high-pitched cadence that is hypnotic, as he details his womanizing antics and drops bars about how he is a “playboy, no Carti.”

“Straitjacket” is the perfect start for Surfa Solo’s project, as it lures you in and drops you in the middle of Ice City. Surfa follows it up by switching it up and getting vulnerable, slowing it down on his track “Warzone,” and detailing the struggles of growing up in North Oakland, also known as Ice City. From “the 100-rounds” every night, self-medicating, and having the bleak reality that it’s impossible to change your life. Surfa gets introspective on this track, preparing you for what Ice City has to come, as he follows up “Warzone” with versatility and tenacity as he is hungry to prove himself.

“On God” is another standout on the project, as the refrain, “on god,” repeats and allows for a cathartic track, where Surfa details his manifesto, his plan for success, reminiscing on missing his brothers, and still having to “free” his boys.

Later in the project, Surfa collabs with fellow Bay Area resident Yhung T.O., where they are “tearing it up,” delivering a straight vibe to audiences.

A catchy next anthem on the project, “Internet Sensation,” showcases his lyrical capability as he delivers a story about his life and becoming the man he is now. The linear narrative song is reflective of his life and family’s struggles, but there is hope, in the end, because, as Surfa declares to his mom, they are streaming him “out in London.”

His next track, “Designer Jeans,” featuring Swayze, is a heartfelt, vulnerable expression of their youth, growing up with guns for protection, being from the streets, and now “stepping in designer jeans.” The pair leave nothing behind as they detail growing up in Ice City.

Surfa Solo’s finale track on the project, “Why You Playing,” featuring Guapdad4000 and Rayven Justice, deliver a break-up anthem, as they spit verses paired with a soulful chorus about “thot” who is for the streets.

Ice City details a day in the life of North Oakland rapper Surfa Solo. From his highs to his lows, Surfa delivers regardless. Ice City is now streaming everywhere, so be sure to tap in with Surfa Solo Via social media @surfa_solo on Instagram and Twitter to see when any upcoming visuals or singles are coming your way.
