Rod Hardy taps musical legend Boosie Badazz for his new track “Greatness“. This new hip-hop single pays homage to the late great Los Angeles, Lakers NBA player Kobe Bryant. Twenty-five years ago this year Kobe played in his first NBA game.

Rod’s new single “Greatness” features the controversial Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr., better known by his stage name Boosie BadAzz or simply Boosie. Hatch began rapping in the 1990s as a member of the hip hop collective Concentration Camp, eventually pursuing a solo career in 2000 with the release of his debut album Youngest of da Camp. Boosie Badazz has been in the media a lot lately as his back and forth continues with Lil Nas X. Rod got deeply involved with the music due to the fact in 2020 Rod’s brother fell into a coma for 20 plus days, and when he finally came home he said “Life Is Short, if you’re going to do it, do it now”. Rod was in the studio that next week working and he has never stopped working on his music since.

Rod’s new single “Greatness” is a tribute to Kobe Bryant and his greatness as well as a look ahead for greatness in his career. Rod was able to pay homage to him as well as embody his mamba mentality for himself. Adding Boosie to the track and giving him his flowers was the perfect touch of marrying music and basketball. “Greatness” recently charted on Apple Music & iTunes charts.

My music is mind, and can’t nobody can help me. It’s lyrical, it’s real, it’s what people feel and I paint that picture and speak for them. I would describe it as relatable to many if not all.

“Greatness” charted on iTunes as high as #30 and his EP Perfect Timing getting as high as #9. Be sure to check out Rod Hardy and Boosie Badazz single “Greatness” below; now streaming on all digital platforms.
