Roc Nation signee DIXSON drops the official third video and title track for “DARLING” off of his latest EP. The new visuals come to life with a television broadcast premiere on BET Soul and BET.com.
“We shot this video in honor of our Black Music heroes. Without the contributions of Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Ike and Tina Review, and Little Richard, recorded music would have a major void. Their art influences EVERY genre heard today. Neki Bosh led the creative direction for this video. Our director Michelle Parker took it a step further with the shooting style of the video. I was honored to work with the amazing choreographer Imani K Williams. This video means so much to me because I was able to do it with people I cherish. I love that the video feels like we’re watching a vintage performance on television while also having the feeling of being in the room. What a way to celebrate Black Music month.” -DIXSON
Reminiscent of an American Bandstand television set up, “DARLING” visuals highlight DIXSON’s unique presence and vocal range. The Atlanta native is proficient in eleven instruments and showcases his piano skills alongside a platform of background dancers and singers. “DARLING” follows the singer’s latest video releases for “KREAM,” which has peaked at #15 on the Top R&B radio charts with over 100k monthly Pandora listeners, and “YOURS” featuring India Shawn.
