Although some phases of life are difficult, most often taking people to their breaking point, such challenges often lead people to meaningful transformation. Riad Hamzic is a living testament to how one’s dark days can result in a metamorphosis. From being a talented athlete, entering rehab, to now building a music career, Riad shows that it’s never too late to start again, and he is sharing his story through his debut album It’s Beautiful In Hell coming out January 17th, 2022.
Riad Hamzic was born on January 17, 1997, to immigrant parents from Serbian (former Yugoslavia) as one of four quadruplets in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Riad has led a fantastic tennis career going on to play at the collegiate level. He started playing at eight years old. The artist played throughout high school where he played varsity tennis all 4 years making the team as a freshmen and competing in USTA junior tournaments. Riad further played at the national level while placing a runner up finish with his team overall at a Division 3 NJCAA tournament in Dallas, Texas. He played for Brookdale a Junior College representing the Jersey Blues
Taking his determination and discipline as an athlete, Riad fearlessly opens another door towards his music career, beginning with his debut album It’s Beautiful In Hell which is executively produced by Emir Hamzic. Even amidst leading a successful tennis career, Riad stayed true to his music and continually worked on finding his authentic sound, honing his rapping skills at 14 years old while balancing himself on the tennis court. He recorded his first set of music at 19 years old and has never slowed down in creating tracks ever since until he was led to this moment where he could finally share his creations with the rest of the world.
It’s Beautiful In Hell will be independently released by MadWorld Records, a movement Riad himself started towards the end of 2021. The record label owned by Riad himself aims to revolutionize the music industry, especially the hip hop genre in general, by acting as a platform for individuals who feel unheard.
“We are trying to shed light on mental health and real-life topics that people go through on a day-to-day basis such as depression, anxiety, trauma, death, etc. It’s Beautiful In Hell, which is the first album to be released from MadWorld Records, will be available on January 17, 2022. This album will increasingly deliver positives and negatives that we humans have to face–things from my own personal life that I am openly putting out there for people to relate to,” shared Riad.
It’s Beautiful In Hell challenges the current status quo in the hip hop landscape by bringing music lovers original, uncensored, and unfiltered tracks that talk about mental health, a subject Riad feels is often overlooked but should be given more emphasis by the music industry. The album has no sugarcoating whatsoever; it is one of the most original productions the music industry is yet to witness, fueled by Riad’s vision to present radical tracks aiming for positive change.
“I was in the psychiatric ward during July of 2019,” Riad shared openly. “I told myself once I get out of here, I am going to change the world. My brother, Emir Hamzic, who is the executive producer of my album It’s Beautiful In Hell, believed in me and felt it was important I tell my story as well as what I went through in my life. I also felt that it was essential to create a platform and music that individuals who have been through tough times can realize they are not alone.”
