On Tuesday, Porsha Williams and Yandy Smith traveled to Louisville, Kentucky demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, which resulted in both ladies being arrested.
Those arrested were charged with obstructing a roadway and disorderly conduct. Yandy sneaked on her phone and recorded parts of the arrest and detainment. As reported by The Jasmine Brand, she captured footage of them being transported in a van along with being held in a gated area while being handcuffed.
Tuesday’s protests were a part of a four-day event organized by the social justice group Until Freedom. They traveled from Louisville police training headquarters to the University of Louisville’s Cardinal Stadium. Police arrested protesters who they said had been blocking a main road outside the football stadium.
It has been more than 155 days since Breonna Taylor was murdered by police who entered her home with a “no-knock” warrant. Taylor was shot eight times by Louisville police. The family of Breonna Taylor has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
