Introduce yourself to our readers, let them know your name and where you’re from
Savii Cross from Ontario, Ca…The Inland Empire
Why did you start to do music?
Honestly growing up as a kid, I had to deal with some tough battles, and I never really knew how I could express my feelings without having to talk one on one with someone in person. So I started to right my feelings down on paper and one day one of my childhood homies told me “Bro what your saying is dope, you need to put this over a beat, people gone feel this” so I winded up finding a beat on YouTube and making a song, it definitely wasn’t my best lol, it didn’t turn out like I thought it would, but over the time I kept perfecting my craft and I kept getting better. it made me feel more relieved.
Have you had another career that wasn’t in the music industry?
I want to say sports, but I really didn’t take it as serious as my uncle wanted me too.
If you could get advice from any artist in the industry, who would it be and why?
Thats a tough question! There’s so many educated artist in the game right now, but if I had to pick, I would honestly go with Soulja Boy! He’s great at marketing, and a great entrepreneur
What or who influences your music?
My homies, family, just my whole environment influences me.
What’s the process of creating music for you?
I wouldn’t really say it’s a process. I have a studio in my home, so I really just roll up a wood and get in my zone. I make music based off of how I’m feeling that day.
What differentiates you from other artists?
I think what differentiates me from other artist would be my work ethic. I’m a real consistent artist. I use to care about how many views I got, but now, I just drop music back to back! Just keep flooding the streets as much as possible. The listeners are going to tell me what songs they like and which ones they don’t. I also learned in this industry you got to pay to play. Scared money don’t make money. A lot of indie artist don’t like to invest in themselves. They try and wait for that major label. But me I’ll go broke investing my last into my music because I know it’s going to come back on the back end.
Have you ever released an album?
No sir! I haven’t released an official album yet
Tell our readers what to look out for next from you?
I have a new project called “South Baby 2” dropping sometime in May
Are you currently on any tours or have any future shows booked?
Due to corona we weren’t really booking shows like that, but me and the the team recently had a show with Drumma Boy out in Atlanta. But now that the world is back open, we plan on putting a tour together.
How can promoters looking to book you get in contact with you?
They can hit my manager Ray on Instagram @Justinrayside he handles all my show bookings and features.
What do you hope to get out of your involvement in the music industry.
I Just hope to get the peoples attention, I have a lot to say and a lot to get off my chest and I feel like the listeners are going to feel the pain and be able to relate.
