Being confined to his home is not stopping Tory Lanez from dropping bangers.

Ahead of his forthcoming mixtape, The New Toronto 3 the rapper-singer gets transparent on his latest track “W,” which features a rare photo of his son as the singles cover.

Over the mellow piano assisted instrumental, Tory delivers what he refers to as “one of my realest verses” as he opens up about on his humble beginnings, before the wealth and fame, rapping “I remember being so broke, shorty didn’t want to have no babies.”

Initially, the third and final installment of his New Toronto mixtape series, which began in 2015,  was scheduled for a March release date. However, it appears that the tape will be pushed back, likely due to the current pandemic. The tape also serves as his final release with Interscope Records, whom he has hinted at having a rift with in the past. However, it appears that all is now well between the two.

“And it’s no bad blood with the label @Interscope,” Tory tweeted. “I HAD A 5 ALBUM DEAL ….I GAVE THEM 12 PROJECTS /ALBUMS if u include all the mixtapes with original music.”

Tory has spoken. Get into his heartfelt tale of overcoming below.
