Pop Smoke is still shaking the room.
On Friday, Pop Smoke’s estate released his first posthumous single, “Make It Rain,” featuring incarcerated Brooklyn MC Rowdy Rebel nearly four months since his untimely death. The track serves as the first single from his posthumous album, which will arrive next month.
Pop’s posthumous album was originally set to drop June 12th. However, his team pushed the release back to July 3rd out of observance for the Black Lives Matter movement, which has gripped the world following the murder of George Floyd.
“Given recent events, we have decided to delay the release of his album out of respect for the movement,” his manager Steven Victor revealed.
The drill cut is a bittersweet reminder of the massive talent that the world lost entirely too soon.Pop Smoke was tragically murdered during a home invasion at his Hollywood Hills home on February 19th. There have been no arrests in his death.
