Adult R&B star KEM is keeping his foot on the gas following the success of his smash hit “Lie to Me”. As he is still holding down the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart for six weeks in a row now, theR&B superstar tapped iconic R&B songbird Toni Braxton for his “Live Out Your Love” single. KEM’s signature silky smooth, harmonious vocals reminds you of how prevelent the R&B genre is in today’s society and culture.
By adding Braxton’s unique tone, and relentless vocals, KEM has created a masterpiece of a record that authentic music lovers will enjoy. This single is right on time as his upcoming album, LOVE ALWAYS WINS is scheduled for release on August 28, 2020. Produced by Derek “DOA” Allen who found fame as a bassist working with Janet Jackson, Karyn White, TLC, and New Edition, you will hear a serenebeat that helps solidify this release as a hit.
This collaboration was sparked sometime last year when Braxton extended an invitation for KEM to perform at her Valentine’s Day concert in Detroit. “My wife and I went to Toni’s show at the Fox Theatre,” recalls KEM. “She called me up onstage to sing with her and it was an incredible moment.” The result of this “incredible moment” is an exceptional R&B classic titled “Live Out You Love”. While working on his new album, KEM began to envision “Live Out Your Love” as a duet and asked Braxton to join him.
The story behind how these two organically came together is what makes this single more special than other singles circulating currently. But they did face one challenge. Due to COVID-19, they were not able to record in the same room. But Braxton’s vocals was so captivating, that once KEM heard knew him knew they had something special. “I loved the way she recorded, the texture of her voice. The pairing of our voices were just amazing” stated KEM. it is safe to say that these two make timeless music together.
