Juelz Santana opens up about his current incarceration on his first single since his incarceration in 2018.
On the sincere Scram Jones-produced record “23 & 1”, which features an outro from Meek Mill, Santana raps about the struggle of being away from his loved ones while serving out his 27 month sentence for drugs and weapons charges. Back in December, his wife and Love & Hip Hop star Kimbella revealed on Instagram that her husband would be released in the summer of this year.
Juelz was apprehended in March of 2018 when security at Newark Liberty International Airport located a loaded gun as well as oxycodone pills in his carry-on bag. The New York MC fled, but eventually turned himself in to authorities. Santana was ultimately sentenced to 27 months as part of a plea deal in the case, which is a slap on the wrist in comparison to the 10 years that he was facing.
