While G-Eazy is gearing up to release his new side project Everything’s Strange Here, the rapper has dropped a track for his fans to listen to in the meantime. “Stan By Me”, produced by world-renowned DJ Marshmello, has more of a mellow sound than the usual hip-hop beats we’re used to hearing from the Oakland native.
G-Eazy continues to experiment with different genres other than rap during his downtime, which is why he decided to make this project. “8 weeks ago I didn’t know I needed to make this,“ he wrote in an Instagram caption. “The world has been turned upside down and inside out – but a lot of us have had the fortunate opportunity to self reflect, grow and evolve. This project is a representation of where my heart and head have been at. It’s honest and pure – it’s me. Take it or leave it – this is how I feel. These Things Happen Too, right around the corner. With that being said, Everything’s Strange Here, June 5th.“
This isn’t the first time the rapper and Marshmello team up for a song, as the EDM producer also worked on the Vic Mensa and G-Eazy collaboration “Reverse.”
Everything’s Strange Here is set for release on June 5th.
