Beyoncé protégés Chloe x Halle just released their second album Ungodly Hour and needless to say, the sisters’ angelic harmonies and sharp writing stand out in this classy R&B album. The only guest appearance on the project is Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee, who is featured on the Mike Will Made-It-produced track, “Catch Up.”

Ungodly Hour shows the R&B duo’s maturity, with tunes about love, lust and regret. “We wanted to show our sensual side because we are growing as young women, but we still kept it classy and cute,” said Chloe in an interview with Teen Vogue.

When talking to Zane Lowe about working on the album while being in quarantine, the sisters said that the process never stopped. “There has been blood, sweat and tears into the process of this new album that we have. And we’ve been trying to release it to just get it out from under us because we just keep creating and songs keep stacking on top of each other,” Halle said. “So of course it has been a process, but for me especially, I feel like I’ve learned a lot of patience and I’ve learned to keep the faith because if I do so then things will be okay in the long run.”

The original release date for Ungodly Hour was set for June 5th, however Chloe x Halle decided to push the date back with respect to the Black Lives Matter movement and keep the focus on that.
