Mother Goat, a prominent rapper and songwriter, was raised in the Bay Area East Palo Alto, CA to be exact. When she released her highly-anticipated album Preserved Apricots in early 2017, she became a central figure in the Northern California region scene and increased the Diversity of Hip Hop in that area. Gabrielle sets herself aside from others when it comes to promotion and strictly believes in reaching out to each fan one by one making sure she builds friendships so that the love would stick. The music that is put outcomes from the heart and her motto sticks! “You get what I feel,” she states.
With an endless catalog that includes artists like Blac Chyna, Cardi B, Pnb Rock, and several other stars, Mother Goat has proved to be one of the greatest songwriters to enter this generation. I’m good energy and the master of my own plan. I’m the one you call when you have no guidance. If I can help or guide you. In a direction to help or shine light on what you got going I will. Outside of working with rap stars Cardi B, Pnb Rock, Ayanis, Inescure’s Issa Rae, and Just Peej, Goat’s favorite collaborator is actually reality tv star Blac Chyna. She exclaims that anytime her and Chyna hit the studio, they create a vibe mixed with lighthearted, goofiness. Having found success in the mainstream market, Goat prides herself on helping rising songwriters looking to leave an impact on the music business.
She encourages writers to “Write! Write! Write!”. One thing Mother Goat stresses is the importance of creating ideas when writing music. She candidly shared “ideas are ideas. Create all kinds of sounds and just push to be different, and experiment with different sounds. Connect with tons of producers so your sound remains different. Also get a good engineer and form a sound with that engineer. Target the artist you want to work with and go for it. Whether you go directly to them or around them, get to them!”
As someone who has grinded to make their wildest dreams become a reality, Mother Goat, plans to continue spreading her influence in a major way. Her talent is something that cannot be denied.
