To be compared to musical greats such as Kanye West, Drake, and Eminem is an accomplishment in itself but that’s minuscule when you consider yourself a God. This is the case for McGuire is God, an artist hailing out Milwaukee, Wisconsin and as you can see, his name speaks for itself. The bold statement was chosen as his stage name to serve as reminder to himself that he is powerful and to always believe in himself, even when the cards are stacked up against him. It’s also used as a motto and mantra.
In 2007, McGuire is God discovered that rapping was his passion. Soon after, the path he chose in music was solidified when his friend DJ XO asked him to feature on his song “Swag Poppin” and from there the rest was history.
Being influenced by artists such as Drake, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Big K.R.I.T, Daft Punk, Kanye West, KRS One, McGuire is God intends to top musical charts and works hard to perfect his craft. From creating his own beats to making sure his music is rehearsed and in order before stepping in the booth, he has a winning formula to success. Although the Milwaukee rapper enjoys making beats, it’s performing on stage that he loves the most.
When it comes to McGuire is God’s music, he aims to display his prowess and intellect and has even used his platform to conceptualize the African American struggle. To date he’s released three albums and a mixtape, “The Grind, Vol 1”, “Word of Mouth”, “10 4 10” and he’s currently promoting his latest project “The Black Out” Mixtape, which was written produced and engineered by himself.
Being a jack of all musical trades such as a lyricist, writer, producer and more, he vows to be the “Hardest working musician in Milwaukee” and eventually in the entire game. He strives to not only put on for himself, but his family, friends and community as well.
