The rise of female rappers coming into the music game is both refreshing and empowering for women all around the world. Just a few short years ago you could count on 1 hand how many female rappers were dominating the charts in the music business. Some people speculated that the industry just wasn’t ready to embrace more then a select few of females who can spit, while others felt as if New York native Nicki Minaj had the game so locked that no other name could jump in the mix. What ever the case may have been female MCs are here to stay and they are proving every day they have what it takes to compete in a male dominated industry.

Representing Harrisburg, PA Mikkka 3k has only been in the game a short amount of time and already has a long catalog of arsenal ready to drop. Always having her feet in the entertainment industry, she started out as a club host and instantly fell in love with being on the stage. She enjoyed the aspect of entertaining a crowd, so she pushed the bar and decided to begin recording music. A story-teller type of artist, Mikkka prides herself on putting substance and meaning into her music. She is bringing all the vibes with her artistry, raw vocals, and signature look. Being from a smaller city, Mikkka is loved and appreciated in her home town, but is networking her sound in larger cities to pick up a stronger fan base. She is a simple girl who loves changing her look. A lover of nice wigs, and big hair Mikkka will stand out in any room she is in.

“It’s OK for me to be different, to sound different, have a different style and I’m just embracing that”

A petite model type built with an attitude fit for New York, Mikkka has her own style, energy, and the strong embodiment of a Boss to go far in the music industry. With independent artists really taking charge of their own music streams and marketing, the results for success are endless. With a strong fanbase and demand for your music, you will always have a job as a music artist if you put the work in. Mikkka is a strong believer in women empowerment, and the importance of having a large variety of female rap musicians to appreciate where the fan’s needs are taken care of in terms of music taste. Heavily inspired by Bronx native Cardi B and Comedian Tiffany Haddish for their openness about the struggles and challenges they went through to win, Mikkka is influenced by their journey to the top.

The calculated female lyricists is controlling her narrative down to the clothes she wears. Working on her debut mixtape Black Sheep Music Mixtape dropping September 1st, 2021, it will include 21 various tracks showcasing her music talent and the diversity she is bringing into the game. It will also include a documentary she is filming with her team to showcase her journey in terms of what went into putting her first project together. She is loading her fans up with fresh content for the wrap-up of 2021. Often female artists are put into a box regarding their image and sound, and Mikkka is working hard to avoid this dead end with her artistry. She wants to be able to give you some conscious music and then be able to switch it up and rap about her body and being sexy!

1. What was the biggest challenge with your debut project?

My biggest challenge with my debut project has been timing! I’m big on my project being perfect so the world can feel me and I’m eager to get my music out, but I had to learn patience to achieve perfection.

2. What did you want the project to convey to your fans?

I wanted this project to show that as a female rapper / performer you don’t have to be boxed into any category! My music conveys strength, sexiness, bossiness, and confidence! I focused on storytelling and metaphors as well as creating fun and sexy music you can vibe to.

“Don’t let fear or doubt stop your grind or hustle, work hard, grow daily and learn from your mistakes”
