HHW: First, we need you to introduce yourself to the readers who may not be familiar. Tell us a little about yourself.

Ash Allure: My name is Ash Allure and I use my spiritual gifts to heal through mediums of music, philanthropy and holistic health. I was born and raised in Houston, TX and I am a Pisces sun, Gemini moon and Aries rising. Equally important, I am a keen advocate for Holistic and Mental health and infuse all my mediums with the intention to heal and educate others on those topics and use my platform to enlighten others on subjects that may be considered taboo or hard to comprehend.

HHW: When did you first fall in love with music, and how long have you been actively pursuing your dreams of becoming a musician?

Ash Allure: I fell in love with music at an early age, because my mom was a musician herself. She would take me to the studio with her, sing and dance around the house and always encouraged me to be creative and express my truest self. Through my teenage years, instead of getting birthday gifts or partying I would go to concerts in my spare time because I loved the ambiance of the show and I loved seeing Art come to life during a live performance. In college, I picked up the hobby of DJing and would always create fun mixes and post them to SoundCloud. Finally, in January 2017 I had an epiphany about what I wanted to do with my life and became a music manager. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out so I got into the studio with one of the artists I was managing at the time and we created a song. Falling in love with the creative process, I decided to become an artist in 2018 under the alias Ash Allure and I haven’t looked back since.

HHW: What differentiates you from other artists?

Ash Allure: The biggest differentiator between me and other artists is that I feel like I have a mission attached to my Art. It’s not about the lifestyle or money for me, but more so about the positive impact & healing my music can have on the world and building an empire based on the intention to heal. Sonically, I have created a genre called Frequency Trap so that alone separates me because I am always going for very colorful and innovative sounds and in my writing I like to take simple concepts and create an abstract picture from that concept.

HHW: Are there any artists in the present day or before you that musically inspire you? If so, who and why?

Ash Allure: Artists that have musically inspired me that has transitioned are Michael Jackson & Prince because of their ability to heal, inspire and sonically change Pop music with their own individual creativity. Present day, some artists that musically inspire me are:

Lucky Daye

Jhené Aiko

Victoria Monét, and  Childish Gambino

I feel like sonically they have created their own lane and also have the work ethic, poise, & ability to re-invent themselves which is very admirable.

HHW: What motivates you in and out of the booth?

Ash Allure: I have a four main motivating factors, which are my mom, my niece Zoe, my ancestors & my fanbase which I call my Allurians, they really are a huge part in why I never quit on myself or music. As an artist, it is very easy for self-doubt to creep in especially if you aren’t getting a lot of recognition as fast as you would like to. For this reason, keeping those four motivating factors in my mind has significantly made me more confident in myself and my mission. Furthermore, researching into my lineage and discovering my ancestors and where they came from, has also created a whole new meaning to my divine purpose. It’s bigger than me and I have accepted that and I know now that I am just an instrument for a much bigger Design in the fabric of life.

When I wrote “Higher Self”, I wanted to create a melodic positive affirmation type ballad that encompassed my epiphanies & realizations I was having at the time as an artist. The first time I heard the beat, it immediately put me in a meditative, trance state and I wanted my writing to synergize and flow with that.

HHW: What are three things about you that would shock the public?

Ash Allure: The first thing that would shock the public is that energy healing is apart of my daily routine. Every morning & night I cleanse myself with Florida Water and also every night I take a spiritual bath with my personal herb blends to cleanse and protect my energy. The second thing that would shock the public is that I am really big into astrology and have the ability to read someone’s natal chart. The third thing that would shock the public is that I am actually very fluid & free-spirited in who I am and love to laugh and have fun. Also, that I firmly believe the spiritual realm and material realm are very integrated and when you tap into that you have the ability to see the Divine manifested.

HHW: What do you feel you contribute to the culture as an artist?

Ash Allure: What I can contribute to the culture as an artist is that I can be as avant-garde as I want to be and it is respected and recognized. Eventually, I want to get a platform large enough to lift up creative geniuses and make different cool again. Also, I feel like I am a multi-faceted artist and not just primarily focused on music, but also educating others on Holistic/Mental health, and I am currently creating business ventures from that. Going this route, I feel like I will be a pioneer for being a versatile artist/businesswoman in the beginning stages of pursuing a music career. Additionally, this will exploit that you don’t have to be commercial to start building an enterprise early on. Finally, I feel like the current state of music is blending and becoming a plethora of genres. So much so, that I feel like I will be one of the innovative artists that contribute to that transition of sound and create my own wave of what popular music is supposed to sound like.

HHW: How do you balance your career with your home life? Family?

Ash Allure: From the beginning of my journey, I have always committed to myself and my career and never really dated and have actually been celibate for about 2 years now. I’m married to my career, healing and ascension and I feel like love and men will always be there but being in your prime and going after your dreams is not so I chose to focus on the latter. Ultimately, I am happy I chose me instead of letting someone else dictate my trajectory in life.

HHW: What’s next for you? What should we be on the lookout for?

Ash Allure: I am currently wrapping up my debut album Serenity and I am also launching more holistic health products through my store, Allure’s Apothecary.

HHW: How can those looking to book you make contact?
