Master P is back at it again adding to the Miller family empire as if the rap mogul isn’t busy enough with music, film, charitable and philanthropic efforts, and still reveling in the success of ‘I Got The Hook Up 2’. For his latest business venture, Master P (real name Percy Miller) has taken on the food industry, opening Big Poppa Burgers in his hometown of New Orleans.
P told Nola.com that Big Poppa Burgers is inspired by his grandfather and the memories he has spending time with him around the grill. “My family loves to cook,” he said. “As a kid, hamburgers were my favorite food. It was the way my grandfather cooked them up. I’d always watch him. He seasoned it well, he grilled it well, he put some sauce on there, that was a perfect burger.” He said he wants everyone who visits restaurant to feel as if they are an extension of his own family.
Master P continued, “I started out in the music business, but my longevity is about creating brands and businesses, and you utilize your power to promote all your brands. You only can do that if you own something. This is about having a family restaurant and putting that business in the community where you come from.”
The restaurant specializes in griddle-crisp burgers with many over-the-top toppings and a special sauce, plus a chicken and waffles option and milkshakes. And yes, for those who saw ‘I Got The Hook Up 2’, the establishment is based in part on the fictional restaurant from the movie. Check out the Big Poppa’s website here.
Congratulations to Master P and much success to the hopeful Big Poppa Burgers franchise!
