Chatter that rapper and entrepreneur Romeo would be leaving the hit WeTV series, “Growing Up Hip Hop” has been circulating for months now. His father, iconic No Limit rapper and mogul Master P appears to have confirmed his son’s departure after posting a video to his Instagram account which seemingly exposes the producers on the series for trying to instigate drama and conjure up a fake storyline.
“If we gonna do business, let’s do right business,” P said to the producer, expressing his disdain for the fabricated love triangle between Romeo and fellow GUHH cast members Bow Wow and Angela Simmons. “She lost her boyfriend, her baby daddy. She lost him to — he got murdered. She don’t need another relationship right now,” he continues on, referring to Simmons’ ex-fiance and father of her son, Sutton Tennyson, who was murdered in late 2018.
“I’m only showing you this so next time you’re watching this show you can use your real judgement and see how they flip peoples words and change positive moments into negative. This is the reason we quit 6 months ago. They edit for drama, we have more important things to worry about than fake producers creating fake love stories. The only way to change this is with ownership,” Master P explained in the caption for the clip.
In the clip, Romeo also makes comments indicating that production on the show was not respectful of his spirituality in the past.
The production staff has not responded to Master P and Romeo’s claims.
