HHW: When did you record your first record?
Mastah Mynde: I recorded my first record when I was about 12. I remember it like it was yesterday. My uncle who was an artist at the time had his own studio and I remember I used to bug him to record a song. He would always be so busy recording or making his music that I never really got a chance. Until one day my sister told him he needs to listen to my music. I spit a verse for him that he liked and that was it. He told me I was nice for my age and that added fuel to the fire.
HHW: Why music? Describe your passion.
Mastah Mynde: Music honestly is one of my earliest memories, I remember being just a toddler and jamming to slick rick and dougie fresh in my pops car riding through the city. Then when I was about 7 years old. I remember the whole Cash Money coming to Lil Haiti and shooting the project chick video. That was my first taste of the music life, I met lil wayne, baby, juvenile, mannie, turk the whole cash money. I sat on the set with them, I was even at the beginning of the video with my cousins. Ever since that day, I knew what I wanted to do.
HHW: What impact are you looking to make with your music? Who do you want to impact?
Mastah Mynde: I want people to hear my music and they problems go away for a moment. Or you hear my music and it make you want to get up and hustle. I want to impact everyone especially the hood. I make a lot of music that people in the hood can relate to or even if you been through some type of struggle.
HHW: Who/what inspires your sound/music?
Mastah Mynde: I would say life inspires my music. Life gives me content to keep making music.
HHW: Who is your motivation and why?
Mastah Mynde: My Motivation is my family, I watched my Mom and Sister struggle and thug it through so much stuff it kind of forced me to grow up early. So I really go hard for them, my lil sister, my brothers, my pops.. And more importantly I’m motivated by the old me, I’m trying to be a better version of myself everyday.
