As if Mariah Carey has not already made a killing every holiday season for the last 25 years with her irresistibly catchy tune, “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, the songstress is now gearing up to release a documentary about the pop carol. The short film will delve into the Randy Jackson produced track’s impact on pop culture over the last two decades. As of 2017, the song was reported to have earned $60 million in royalties, selling over 16 million copies worldwide.
Amazon released the trailer for the mini documentary, Mariah Carey Is Christmas! The short film will dive into the history of the smash holiday classic released in 1994. This year, it appeared on the Rolling Stone Charts as early as November 1st, coming in at Number 62 on the list of Top 100 Songs. The doc will feature interviews from Carey herself alongside her long time backup singer, Trey Lorenz. In a trailer released on Wednesday for the film, Carey gloated over her upbeat Chrstmas anthem, “It was an accomplishment for me that I was really proud of.”
While an official release date has not been announced, the documentary is expected to premiere on Amazon Music later this month. Catch the charming trailer below.
