Talks of Lloyd Banks permanent departure from music have been circulating for quite some time now. The rapper only added fuel to the fire in September of last year when he tweeted, “Let’s be real..ain’t nobody checking for banks anymore,” sending fans who were holding out hope for new Banks music into a frenzy.
It appears that the former G-Unit rapper has had a change of heart. Banks announced a sporadic cluster of Canadian tour dates on Instagram earlier in the week.
The first of the gigs will take place Thursday night in Quebec, Canada at The Bud Shack’s 4:20 party followed by Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, Canada on Friday, February 7th, before concluding his run in Sudbury Ontario, Canada, on Saturday, February 8th.
Despite the New York lyricists post-rap epiphany, it’s clear that people are indeed still checking for Banks.
