Earlier this month, Lil Wayne hinted that he had something big in the works, tweeting “Got somethin special komin real soon!” Well now, we know exactly what the surprise is. Lil Wayne is joining the world of radio with the launch of Young Money Radio, which debuts this week.
“THIS Friday, 7pm EST, yours truly will be hosting the VERY FIRST episode of YOUNG MONEY RADIO!” Wayne tweeted on Tuesday. “I’ll have heavyweights calling in discussing sports, music, comedy, everything!”
The Young Money head huncho will launch Young Money Radio on Apple Music’s Beats 1, with the first episode hosted by him and a few surprise guests. To kick off the evening, Wayne is going live on Instagram before transitioning to Apple for the full show.
“We’ll do the first few minutes on IG Live and then jump over to @applemusic for the FULL broadcast!”
Weezy is the latest Young Money star to land his own Apple Music show following his protege Drake who runs OVO Radio and Nicki Minaj who’s Queen Radio has garnered a cult-like following.
The radio show follows a new single from the Young Money camp titled “Super Bowl,” featuring Gudda Gudda, Hoodybaby, and Jay Jones.
