Without releasing new music, Kid Cudi has had a very busy 2019 in Hip Hop.
Over the summer, the Cleveland-native announced he was currently working on his new album,Entergalactic, coming in 2020. Fans excited about his come back from a three-year hiatus, it was also announced that Cudder inked a television deal with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Netflix for a new animated music series also debuting 2020.
Excited about what’s on the horizon, Cudi graced the new digital cover of Complex with legendary designer Nigo to discuss new age creativity, new endeavors and reveal a few surprises.
If you remember, over the course of three years, Kid Cudi battled with substance abuse, depression, and suicide. Countless nights of blacked-out intoxication with no hydration in-sight. Needing more than the regular, Kid Cudi (born Scott Medusci) checked himself into rehab in 2016 for suicidal urges. The 35-year-old recording artist/actor has been enjoying sober living for three-years now.
As the two cultural icons talk streetwear evolution and of course new music. Kid Cudi reveals him and Kanye West are working on a follow-up to their 2018 collaboration Kids See Ghosts. Cudi says, “There will be more Kids See Ghosts albums. Kanye already told me he wants to start working on the second one.”

On his own album, Cudder says he wants to let people see the way he looks at music this time. “My next album will be the music for the first season of the show, and the music will narrate the story,” he tells the magazine. “So a lot of the songs aren’t really from the Scott perspective; they’re from the perspective of the character.”
In 2019, Kid Cudi has been guest featured on breakout projects for Jaden Smith and Schoolboy Q. In June, Q and Cudi released a new visual for their collaboration.
Kid Cudi will headline this year’s annual Complex Con in Long Beach on November 2-3.
