Designer and frequent collaborator Kerby Jean-Raymond is now the Vice President of Creative Direction at the American footwear and clothing company Reebok. Kerby is currently the designer behind the fashion label Pyer Moss in New York. Over the past four years the sportswear brand and Kerby have formed a partnership and has produced a sequence of apparel and sneaker collections that have been quite popular. Jean-Raymond’s new role will consist of working closely with the brand’s Product as well as Development departments and Global Marketing. This will help and ensure that his design strategy is persistent across the board. President Matt O’Toole will oversee him as he serves on the Reebok senior leadership team.
Jean-Raymond had this to say about his new role. “I am thrilled to be evolving my role at Reebok and joining the leadership team as the head of Creative Direction, I welcome this opportunity to help invigorate the brand with new ideas, while also focusing on instilling a sense of social purpose into our work.”
This hire is more than hiring a fashion giant but someone who represents the conscience of the fashion world. Beginning 2022 Reebok confirmed that they will have products under Kerby’s creative direction. Jean-Raymond was noticed for his 2016 Menswear Collection during New York Fashion Week where he highlighted police brutality which still holds relevance to this very day. He has also collaborated with some notable celebrities like R&B singer Erykah Badu. Now that he has a new position we can expect even more from the elite designer.
