Today we get to speak about an icon in the music industry. An artist that has spent his entire career with one record label, a three time GRAMMY nominated, multi platinum R&B legend named Kem. In November Kem will be celebrating his 20th anniversary with the Motown Records. Kem dropped his first project “Kemistry” independently in February of 2002. The project created a huge buzz throughout the industry and sparked the interest of then-Motown Records President, Kedar Massenburg. The rest is history.
Kem has given the world a two-decade-long string of groundbreaking number one hits like, “Love Calls,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” “Share My Life,” and “Why Would You Stay,” just to name a couple. He can put together a hit record like nobody’s business.
To celebrate the longevity of his career Kem, had a 2 night homecoming extravaganza on September 9th and 10th. This massive show which was a live tapping was held at The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre in Detroit. The fans showed up and showed out, making these two nights magical. The live album will commemorate his 20th anniversary of signing with Motown Records and will be released November 25th. Two decades of work has paid off in so many different ways.
Kem is still dropping hit records as he just released a smash called “Right On Time” featuring Rick Ross. The record has the Motown sound with the boss bringing heavy flavor to the record. This is what grown and sexy music sounds like.
KEEP UP WITH KEM:
