One million. It seems like an unattainably large number, but it’s only the start for independent musician Insyde, just days after his second single Something Real passed the incredible 1 million stream milestone on Spotify.
Insyde (real name Stephen) got his start in music when he wrote and recorded his debut single Sometimes in less than 3 hours, posting it to his SoundCloud account as a social experiment. Being a marketing student, Insyde employed various marketing strategies along with the seemingly innate social media sixth sense that all of Gen Z seems to be born with. Even so, he couldn’t predict the virality of the project, never dreaming it would blow up to over 1 million streams in just 3 weeks, which is incredible even for many mainstream artists.
“I wanted to try an experiment just to see how viral I could go online with just the marketing skills I learned online and from books I got from my local library.” Insyde told us. “I knew it would work, but I was not prepared for the extent at which it blew up.” Over a year later, Insyde has expanded his audience to over 100 million people, he has achieved verified status on most social networks including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and many others.
In early 2020 after his success in the music industry, Insyde decided to try his hand at other social media platforms, so he started focusing on creating content for the short-form video platform TikTok. His marketing experience along with the attention to detail that comes with autism, led him to quickly “crack” the TikTok algorithm, and he immediately had multiple videos go viral, totalling over 120 million views combined in a 3 month period. He announced his 500,000 follower milestone in April via a Twitter post.
After his social media and music success, Insyde joined Azuric Esports, an organization in which he is rostered as general manager. His social media and marketing experience equipped him to be ready to advise an esports team about social media algorithms, and overall management of the team.
Keep up with Insyde on social media!
