Artist Ike Rhein is back with his latest release, “Just Like You,” featuring a poppy guitar and melodic cadence that will leave you in awe.
Issac Rhein, better known as Ike Rhein, is an artist out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, currently based in West Palm Beach/Miami, Florida,. He’s lived there since 2020 when he turned 18 and decided to pursue music full time. Now at the age of 19, he is showcasing his versatility and aptitude for music. During his early journey of self-discovery, growing up in foster care to being adopted at the age of 11, Ike Rhein has seen more than the typical person his age, but what he perceives as pain being the catalyst for his inspiration to create music.
“I had a lot of early pain,” Rhein said. “The pain I’ve had has really helped me become a better artist, helped me write better lyrics and pushed me to find my sound.”
He describes his sound as “harmonic pop with some acoustic and hip hop sounds,” which is seemingly fit. He makes his music sound cathartic, as seen in the opening of his song “Just Like You” where commences with a beautiful guitar strumming and a sorrowful tone of voice, which bridges the content and form of his track. The song is about reflecting, self-destruction, and as Rhein describes, “nitpicking the little things that their significant other does that makes them upset, but their significant other could do just the same to them.”
The song showcases his vulnerability and the introspective state that he’s in, which is relatable. Ike debuts his singing talent and ability to diversify his sound. From his last two releases, “Not For Me” and “Break It Down,” Ike has proven his reach as an artist. With a diverse and melodic frequency that is cathartic and beautiful, Ike has one hell of a career in his future.
