Introduce yourself to our readers, let them know your name and where you’re from

HIPOST(pronounced High post) born and raised in Los Angles, CA. Now residing in Orange County.

How long have you been doing music?

Since the 3rd grade started playing the cello, in high school started a group called PIDADE (an acronym for putting it down all day everyday) we got a deal with EMI MUSIC had a big single with Ricky Bell (new edition, BBD) titled “All night”. Once group broke up I got a solo deal with the Ruff Ryders in 2007 and had a successful single called “Livin it up” featuring platinum recording group Jagged Edge. So basically my whole life.

At what point did you know this was going to be your career?

In high school cause I would be writing songs in class. I’ve just always loved it!

If you could get advice from any artist in the industry, who would it be and why?

Quincy Jones if you can consider him an artist, because his extensive resume has given him endless knowledge.

What or who influences your music?

The world, I enjoy how different people are and hearing their stories on how life has molded us all differently though we’ve been exposed to the same things.

What’s the process of creating music for you?

Usually like to hear the beat first then the song starts creating itself I’m just the translator.

Has anyone helped you or guided you in getting your foot in the industry?

No one in particular, countless people have had some input along the way but I’ve always done most of the leg work and networking. I’ve learned most from trial and error and learning from mistakes as well as others.

What differentiates you from other artists?

I don’t consider myself a rapper, I’m a entertainer

Have you ever released an album, mixtape, single?

Yes, 3 mixtapes and a bunch of features.

Tell our readers what to look out for next from you.

My Album “Best at what I do” out June 8

Are you currently on any tours or have any future shows booked?

No, but I’ll be touring late July early August

How can promoters looking to book you get in contact with you?

IG – @hi_post_

What do you hope to get out of your involvement in the music industry?

Respect and not to have my regal bearing mistaken for arrogance. I am king
