What does “Every rose needs a thorn” mean?
I came up with “Every Rose Needs A Thorn.” In 2009 while I was living at the 12 Atlantic Station Midtown in Atlanta, Ga… I was having lunch with David Montgomery and Montana white, discussing the depth of valuing the person you love. During this time in Atlanta, there seemed to be a strong wave of successful relationships. You could see Kings and Queens daily sharing vibrant energy as they are shopping, dining out, exercising together, or walking in the park. Every woman is a rose because the rose represents beauty; the petals are a woman’s soft skin, the fragrance pure and sweet. The leaves represent arms outstretched, always loving and giving. When a rose woman decides to take a partner, he describes the stem or “strength” that holds up the beautiful flower; and the thorn the “protector” of the rose. That “Rose Queen” has taken a “Thorn King.” The king and queen connection.
I read in the Source magazine that you live in Medellin, Colombia, and are friends with the older brother of Pablo Escobar, Senor Don Robert Escobar.
Do you care to elaborate?
Yes, I have a relationship with the “Bear” I consider Don Roberto to be like a grandfather; he is very wise and has experienced so much. He is the first person who introduced me to Lulo; it is a healing fruit grown here in Colombia; it tastes incredible and is extremely healthy. I am considering adding organic juices to the RobRose brand shortly, amongst other projects that have been in the works with Don Roberto.

How is life in Medellin, Colombia, for an African American businessman?
I don’t consider myself an African American; I believe myself to be what my ancestors were, and that would make me a world citizen living in Colombia as a melanated single man. I would have to say it’s paradise. I did not speak Spanish when I arrived four years ago and started my company without language being a barrier. Melanated people have the advantage here in Colombia, being that everyone, for the most part, has a melanated relative. So race does not play a factor in business or day-to-day life engagement, in my opinion. Colombia, to me, is where you can live the true American dream.
So I see your brand is famous on Instagram any plans for an Only Fans Page? You do work with beautiful women.
My team and I agreed, and yes, we do see the need to launch the only fan page, and we will. The Robsrosez brand is growing, and many beautiful rose models already operate in that world, so be on the lookout for a launch (@officialrobsrosez) coming soon.
