Drake is joining the fight against social injustice.
The “Gods Plan” Toronto superstar has joined fellow superstars Janelle Monáe, Kehlani, and G-Eazy in donating to the National Bail Out, which is a program set up to bail protestors out of jail.
Drake donated $100,000 after Toronto poet and musician Mustafa the Poet called on the rapper to match his donation “but add 3 zeros” after he donated $400 to the National Bail Out. Drake responded by posting a screenshot of his American Express transaction receipt, writing “Say less brother.”
Other similar programs such as The Minnesota Freedom Fund have also seen an influx in donations, raising about $20 million in just four days.
Kudos to Drake and the many others stepping up to the plate in the fight against racism and police brutality.
