Donte Denero’s latest single “Crash Out” is an authentic and emotion-filled track in which the emcee reveals his innermost feelings amid extreme loss and how they are now affecting him. “I wrote Crash Out after my mother passed away in an actual car accident,” he disclosed in a recent interview. The 3 minute track which also features his late brother Dino PaChino, allows for the two siblings to detail their frustration with life while grieving, wanting to “crash out” and make their enemies feel the pain that they have experienced and now have to carry.
“I’ve been through enough pain to break 10 men,” Denero said. “I really use music to express myself in whatever way I’m feeling.”
The song is accompanied by a visual which Denero directed himself. Over the course of the song playing, viewers see a story of revenge begin to play out. The opening scene shows Denero posted up outside of a home with his crew when suddenly a car speeds by as someone inside begins firing rounds of bullets that send everyone scattering trying not to get hit.
Denero is able to get away to the safety of his home but has no plans of staying, rushing into his room searching for his own firearm with which to retaliate. While gathering everything he needs, he is met by his mother’s frantic presence in the doorway of his room as she tries to de-escalate the situation and pleads with him to not go back outside into a potential warzone. Things get heated and a little physical as the two have a slight tussle before Denero is able to push past her and leave the house. He then meets back up with boys as they all get into a car and set off to find the person who just unleashed havoc on their territory.
While art does imitate life, Donte Denero hopes listeners understand “that crashing out ain’t cool; Invest in yourself mentally physically and financially and everything else [will] follow.”
His latest single is only the first of what he has in the works for later this summer so be sure to follow him @DonteDenero on Instagram to stay up-to-date.
