
Dominique Thorne is officially going to debut in Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ as Ironheart for the character’s first live appearance on tv or film. Her character’s name, Riri Williams, will make the appearance as Ironheart first on the Black Panther sequel before leading in her own Ironheart Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series on Disney+.
Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios reportedly told Comicbook.com, “We’re shooting ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in ‘Black Panther 2’ first. She started shooting, I think, this week before her ‘Ironheart’ series.”
Thorne is best known for her role in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ and her break out role in the Oscar nominated film ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’.
The Ironheart series is based around Riri Williams as a “genius inventor”. According to Comicbook , “At 15 years old, she gets herself accepted into MIT. It is there that she builds her own version of an Iron Man-style armor, the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.”
‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is currently filming in Atlanta with the return of the highly regarded African American director Ryan Coogler. You can expect to see the original cast Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Michaela Coel and Angela Bassett along with new cast member Tenoch Huerta as Namor and more.
