Divynah

Upcoming trip-hop artist Divynah launched her debut album “The Healing” in Hollywood to a room full of loyal fans in her universe. This album is the love child of four years of hard work, dedication and perseverance. Her sound and the vibe of this album is a mesh between Erykah Badu and Nelly Fertado. Crazy, mesh but if when you look at her in the flesh, you get Nelly vibes but when you close your eyes and indulge on the sound, a little Erykah comes to mind.

“This album was literally fueled by my own transformation process towards being free in the mind, body and soul. Creating it was what set me free, and that’s the vibe integrated throughout the music!” said Divynah

Divynah wanted to created a body of work that would give her fans an opportunity to go through self-transformation as they went through the music. She wrote, sang and produced the majority of the album. Her debut single “The Healer” is a feel good piece that makes you want to smoke a blunt, lay on the couch, and just release all your negative energy into the universe.

For those who wonder who this dynamic artist is, Divynah is a self-made rising star. Born in Kuwait, Divynah came to the United States with her parents on a summer vacation and the Gulf War erupted shortly after their arrival. Realizing that they would not be allowed back into their country Divynah and her family went from tourist to refugees overnight. They ended up settling down in North Carolina and this is where she would train and learn everything she needed to know about music.

Upon completing the opera/jazz college music program in North Carolina Divynah moved to Los Angeles to explore creating her own album. She began working with artist/producer Blaqstarr, who’s worked with artists such as MIA and Diplo. He showed her how to run production software equipment and encouraged her to write and produce so that she could create her own sound.

That’s exactly what she ended up doing. The 10 songs on this album all have their own unique identity that fuse together and telling a story of hardship, pain, spiritual cleansing and healing. Her album “ The Healing” is currently available on all streaming platforms including Spotify.
