Born and raised in San Diego, rapper Demarray D Great, continues to please fans with catchy music and an in-demand clothing line called Banechi. Inspired by Cali rappers Tiny Doo, Mitchy Slick, Ecay Uno, and E-40—Demarray started recording and releasing music with hits such as “BIG DAWG” and “DO SOMETHING”, which put himself and his city on the map. He’s building his brand into a household name and doing it all independently. At the heart of everything he does is his belief in himself and dedication to being the example of building from the ground up.
Banechi, his wildly popular clothing brand, started as somewhat of an accident. As a homeless teen, Demarray washed his clothes in a sink and accidentally spilled bleach onto his jeans one day. Desperately trying to fix it, he scrubbed them with a toothbrush and spelled his name into the jeans. His new custom clothing quickly became a hit at school, and he continued creating with whatever he could get his hands on, such as Kool-Aid and rhinestones. Demarray jokes about taking an airbrush machine from Michael’s and later returning to give them $300 because they essentially gave him his start. Demarray D Great continues to live up to his name as a rapper, entrepreneur, and father.
