DaBaby has given up a hefty amount of money for more time with his fans. He was warned that he had 10 minutes left while performing at the Summer Unlocked Music Festival in Ontario, California.
Often festivals have strict rules. Most festivals have to shut down by 11 pm or midnight due to the amount of noise, including loud music, that may affect neighbors in the surrounding areas. While there are pricey fines given when the rules are broken, artists like DaBaby are committed to paying the price for giving their fans the full experience.
Fans thought that they might no be able to see DaBaby’s full set since his time on stage was running out as the last to perform. He was on stage when his performance was about to be cut short.
DaBaby announced to the crowd, “So, they just said we got 8 minutes left or anything after 12 o’clock, that’s $10,000,”. Nonetheless, he said the show must go on no matter the price.
“So if I pay the $10,000 out my pocket, I could get ’em the full show?” He asked the promoters who were by the stage as the crowd cheered.
“Y’all mothafuckas thought you were paying to see me. I’m ’bout to pay to see y’all,” the rapper said and asked the audience if they paid that much to attend the festival. “Okay, then. On the count of three, let me hear you say, ‘Thank you, Baby,'” as he waited for the crowd to thank him in unison.
