Cory Brooks Strawbridge

When you’re a kid, the world is your oyster. You have so many options to choose from and limitless possibilities. At least, that’s how it is for “normal” kids. Things are different for people like Cory Brooks Strawbridge who don’t fit the mold. Though words may not hurt physically, they can shape someone’s perception of themselves and limit them. As someone who’s been through it and conquered, Strawbridge has a message to all dreamers: don’t let people kill your dreams.

Growing up, Strawbridge had severe ADHD, which affected his childhood and adolescent years. His family and teachers perceived him as a disruptive and imperfect kid and believed he would never amount to anything. From an early age, Strawbridge was often told he would dig ditches for a living. However, through hard work and dedication, Strawbridge proved everyone wrong. Today, he’s not only an accomplished musician but also an inspiration and mentor to others in his industry.

For many years, Strawbridge lived a hard life full of discouragements. The worst part is that some of these discouragements came from family members and close friends, making it even more difficult to push through them. Then, one day, he discovered music, and his life changed. Though his ADHD made it hard to focus, music gave Strawbridge the motivation he needed to make it through the day. It became part of his life and helped him cope with daily challenges.

Despite lacking a natural talent for singing or songwriting, Strawbridge had a passion and was committed. Music was now a way of life, and he was determined to make something out of that passion. In his mind, that was enough to get him started. Over the next few years, Strawbridge dedicated hundreds of hours to learn more about music. He studied his favorite musicians, practiced the craft, and honed his skills. Within no time, Strawbridge was ready to wow the world.

Strawbridge’s efforts paid off when he released his debut track, “Spade.” The song was an instant hit, attracting the attention of fans and critics alike. Many people praised Strawbridge for his relatable lyrics, perfect melody, and natural vocals in a world dominated by Auto-tune. The artist followed up the success of that song with other hit singles, all of which are available on Spotify. He also leveraged his growing platforms to encourage and inspire other artists to follow their dreams, just as he did.

“People think that all the greatest singers/writers/producers/etc. are born with a gift,” says Strawbridge. Contrary to that opinion, he says dedication and passion trump talent any day, as his continued success proves. To date, Strawbridge still struggles with ADHD, but he’s never allowed that to stop him. When the going gets tough, he gets up and clears his mind to regain his ability to focus, then goes back to creating more music.

Strawbridge says that the key to success is knowing what you want and pursuing it relentlessly. “You have one life,” he says. “You don’t know how long you will be here, so shoot for the moon and make great things happen! Don’t let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do.” Strawbridge continues to push himself every passing moment, creating music and mentoring new artists. He hopes to create lasting change, inspiring even more musicians to chase their dreams

MC Jonny T Delivers with Collage

In the ongoing battle between Hip Hop then and now, it has become uncommon for an artist to combine the sounds of different eras to create a project that still sounds like it is right on time. Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak accomplished this feat as Silk Sonic.  MC Jonny […]
