The NFL will be holding a private workout for free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick in Atlanta on Saturday; and all 32 teams were invited to attend after several teams inquired about Kaepernick’s readiness to return to football, according to a league spokesman in a statement to CBS News. Kaepernick tweeted Tuesday night, “I’m just getting word from my representatives that the NFL league office reached out to them about a workout in Atlanta on Saturday. I’ve been in shape and ready for this for 3 years, can’t wait to see the head coaches and GMs on Saturday.”

Quite a few teams across the league have lost their star quarterback due to injury this year, including Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cam Newton of the Panthers, so it’s safe to say there is an immediate need for a veteran quarterback. CBS reports in Colin Kaepernick‘s 68 career starts, he’s racked up 72 touchdown passes, 12,271 passing yards, 13 touchdown runs and 2,300 yards on the ground. He also has a 4-2 record in the playoffs, and lead the San Francisco to a Super Bowl and two NFC Conference games.

Kaepernick hasn’t played in the league since 2016, when he first sat during the playing of the National Anthem. Kap said his protest was against police shootings of African American men and the social injustices faced by black people everyday in the United States. Although garnering major support from fans, fellow athletes and celebrities, his stance on social injustice kept him from that football bag for nearly 3 years. It’s about time for his return. Blessings, Kap!
