Chucky Royale’s new party anthem, “Chawp Chawp,” is about not wasting life, hurrying up, and doing it for his community.
Chucky Royale, originally from St. Ann, Jamaica, moved to Florida at sixteen. He’s now based in Orlando, Florida. And while on the verge of adulthood — and like many teens trying to find his identity — he made the necessary steps towards his future. Being proactive, he combined his love for music with the two cultures he had surrounded himself with, Jamaican Dance Hall and Underground Rap, which solidified his sound and unique musical taste.
Chucky’s latest release, “Chawp Chawp,” is a fun, party anthem meant to get anyone moving, blending his sound of New Age Dancehall music and witty, lyrical lines, making for one hell of a punch, as he bodies every verse. “Chawp Chawp” comes in just under three minutes and has this melodious tone that is full of vitality, bass, and Chucky Royale’s infamous grittiness.
The track is meant to spark up the night as Chucky states, “Chawp Chawp translates to Chop Chop, which means hurry, I’m telling my people to hurry up, so the party doesn’t miss us.” This party he speaks of is a phenomenal night, filled with delight and pride in his town, as he shows love to his hometown of Jamaica, “I do this shit for ghetto yute so they will get the courage.”
Chucky Royale’s love for his Jamaican roots shines bright in “Chawp Chawp,” as he shows love, acting as an inspiration to the “next generation,” showing them that “anything is possible and we can do anything we want and achieve anything we can possibly think of and so much more.”
Royale’s “Chawp Chawp” is one hell of an inspirational, reflective party anthem, delivering on multiple levels.
