How have you changed, in your opinion, as an artist, since you released your debut “Be Careful”?
A lot has changed since (my debut single) Be Careful. My voice is stronger, my lyrics even meatier, and my approach on how I deliver a song I feel is just perfect.

Have you worked with Black Noyz & Bruce Wayne prior teaming up with them to direct the “Easy” music video? Did anything unexpected occur during the making of the vid? Any happy accidents, etc.?
I have worked with both Black Noyz & Bruce Wayne prior to the ‘Easy’ (music) video. I worked with both on a previous video ‘So Bad’ and my upcoming single titled ‘Open Letter’. Also, Bruce Wayne is the love that I speak about in the single ‘Easy’. He’s my partner in business and in love.
As far as unexpected occurrences or happy accidents during the making of the Easy video.. The owner and host of the space we used was really a stickler about everything until he recognized me from a little documentary, then gave me carte blanche and ultimately made for a delightful experience.

How has the city of Chicago shaped your music?
Chicago is in my DNA (no pun intended) and definitely in my music. Chicago is gritty, yet beautiful! It’s a city that genuinely lends itself from everything from drill to conscious rap.. From heavy metal to the richest gospel that I was raised on. Chicago is just real!.. That real contrast or balance that Chicago authentically provides is one that I also use as a foundation within my music.

What’s your primary message with your single “Easy”?
My primary message in ‘Easy’ is LOVE! It should and can be healthy & fun.

What new albums/artists have inspired you so far in 2021?
SAs far as 2021 in particular?.. artists that have inspired me so far this year have been.. Drake, Lil Baby, Lil Rod, Bruno (Mars), Megan Thee Stallion, and Jazmine Sullivan.

Has navigating the pandemic changed your perspective on the music industry in any way?
Not really. Navigating the pandemic hasn’t changed my perspective on the music industry. I know despite the situations, creatives will make a way to stay creative. We got shit done even while being at home. Social media has been a life saver because I was able to really connect with a bunch of my supporters via social media and Zoom.

What can the fans expect from you next?
Fans can expect more music.. The next single, ‘Open Letter’ will drop in May. Everyone should expect just more Sparkle!.. More truth (my) music. The Obstacle Course EP will be released this year and will give thoughts to my family and how I’ve been feelin’ about the industry as whole.
