Interview By Doris “Punkin” Green

HHW: Tell our readers who Ether Da Connect.

Ether: Ether Da Connect is the connection between the world and our style of music. I am the one bringing the team together and getting the party started.

HHW: I understand your mom is a rapper also. At what age did you begin doing music of your own?

Ether: I have been rapping since I was a child. I wrote my first song at age 11.

HHW: Being from Brooklyn, how has where you’re from shaped you into the person you are today?

Ether: I will definitely say that Brooklyn has shaped the person I am today. Brooklyn is the mecca for today’s new wave of music. Some of today’s hottest acts come from Brooklyn. We generate a special energy.

HHW: How would you describe your musical style?

Ether: My musical style is fun and aggressive. I want people to have a good time.

HHW: Who were your musical influences growing up?

Ether: I would have to say that hip hop overall has been an influence on my musical development. I’m intrigued with all the attributes of music. There are too many artists to name that influence me. However, Brooklyn artists such as Bobby Smuder, Designer, Pop Smoke and Fivio Foreign  have been motivational.

HHW: How was it working with Waka? How did that Collaboration come about?

Ether: Once I released the video for “Waka” it went viral and people kept tagging Waka Flocka in the post. Waka and his wife showed the song love through Social Media. We also had a couple of mutual friends that eventually introduced us, when Waka Flocka was in NYC. He vibes with me, the song and it was history

HHW: What is the story behind your song “Waka”?

Ether: Honestly I wanted to incorporate ‘Cha Cha’ into the lyrics of my next song. So I influenced the vibe of the song.

HHW: The song “Waka” has gotten over 3.6 million views and streams how does that feel?

Ether: It feels great. I’m appreciative to the fans and all the people who support the movement. This motivates me to continue creating and delivering great music.

HHW: How has things changed for you since you hit the music scene?

Ether: My money is longer, Ha Ha. I’m currently working with some of my favorite artists. It feels amazing getting recognition for my music.

HHW: What is one message you would like to give to your fans?

Ether: Be yourself and don’t let anyone tell you there’s a set formula on how to obtain success. Everyone has their own story, so don’t stop pursuing your goals.

HHW: What is next for Ether Da Connect?

Ether: I’m dropping my EP on May 8th titled M.O.D Vol 1 (Movies on Demand Vol 1). The visuals for “Shake it” will be dropping as well. Stay tune I have coming with big music.
