Broderick Perkins is an Alternative Hip-Hop Artist and Producer from Dallas, Texas. His faith is what has inspired him to do music, personal life experiences, and connecting to his listeners. It’s an undeniable fact that music is one of the greatest forms of communication and connects people. Music is just the vehicle to impact lives and the community around him. Seeing how his music hits the hearts of his listeners inspires him the most. 

Broderick Perkins’s style of music is unique. Since he is Alternative Hip-Hop, he blends many genres such as R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock, and Pop. Over the years he has been shaped by many musical influences such as Anthony Hamilton, Michael Jackson, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Outkast, Pharrell Williams, Musiq Soulchild, Miguel, Kanye West, Allen Stone, Leon Bridges, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Johnny Cash, and many others.

His first studio album “The Evolution of Broderick Perkins” released on June 21, 2021. When we think about Evolution and/or evolving as a person, we must look at the overall picture. Evolution means the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form. 

We can hear the gradual development in his style of music and instrumentation of his production.  All of the musical experiences, spiritual experiences, and life experiences has shaped him as a person. It only makes you grow stronger through the process. Change and growth can be painful but God uses it for His glory and our good. Evolving is just another step in life to impact the person next to you. That’s what the album symbolizes.
