In the wake of George Floyd’s death, many celebrities are using their platforms to share their responses, raise awareness and demand justice, as protesters take over the streets expressing outrage over the killing of the 46-year-old black man. Floyd died in Minneapolis after a white police officer kneeled on his neck for nearly eight minutes, as the handcuffed man repeatedly said he couldn’t breathe. Video of the killing spread quickly on social media and the officer has now been charged.

Rihanna also expressed her anger and sadness by sharing a photo of George Floyd along with a powerful caption.

Drake shared a poem on his page with a caption that read, “Rest in heaven George Floyd🌹.”
