East Palo Alto, California native J-Giv is the Bay Area artist you need to know.

Making his Hip Hop Weekly debut, J-Giv drops off his latest hip-hop contribution, “Woke Up“. The single is produced by Savaeon and features fellow “The Gardens” bred artist, Garden Boiz group member and cousin, Garden Boi Bigg$. “I had a conversation with my cousin Bigg$. We discussed getting older and reflected on staying on the grind. I overheard him saying he really didn’t get sleep cause he gotta go to work. The best sleep you going to get is when you’re dead. Then, I was like, you right. You work all your life and when it’s over they lay you to rest, so I put it in a song,” J-Giv shared as he described the inspiration behind the track.

It’s this type of everyday convo and relatable content that keeps his fanbase growing. Starting his music career at the age of 13, J-Giv is no stranger to this. Music is embedded in his soul; gifting him with the ability to birth versatile music with unique themes. Giv reflected on the moment he knew he had something special back at the Boys & Girls Club in EPA, where others took notice and were vocal about his musical gifts. From that moment, his mind was set and he made a decision to dedicate his life to his craft.
