Atlanta Rapper SSX PESO Rebuilding Life After Lockup, One Bar at a Time

Many people aren’t fortunate enough to get a second chance in life to follow their passion and fulfill their purpose, but Atlanta rapper SSX PESO was given the opportunity and hasn’t let his foot off the gas since.

After doing a 24-month sentence, SSX PESO realized that music was definitely what he wanted to do and got busy working on his craft and perfecting it. Recording for the first time and being finally able to hear himself, solidified his decision and from there he knew he was on the path to greatness. Although the road to becoming the artist he is today wasn’t an easy one, he hopes to use his misfortunes and missteps as a guide and inspiration to others walking similar paths.

SSX PESO stands out from other upcoming rappers by focusing on a more smooth, mellow rap style where he showcases his finesse as a lyricist rather than hard-hitting bars and punchlines. In addition, he uses his music to talk about his own struggles and says it will bring out the hustler inside a person while inspiring others to keep on getting up after being knocked down.

Drawing from major influences such as Lil Baby, Icewear Vezzo, EST GEE, and Yo Gotti, SSX PESO is making a name for himself in the rap scene. He admires the style of these artists, and talks about how looks up to them because they started out the same way as him as SSX PESO is no stranger to the streets and was a boss before being locked up.

Now pursuing his rap career full-time, SSX PESO is currently pushing his new single “FREAK” while actively working on his debut EP  “Still Shining”. You can stream his single on Apple Music and stay up on his upcoming releases via Instagram and Twitter @SSXPESO
