Andrew Dante Hillmedo is a Bronx native. Now known as a videographer for the stars, the young creative began acting and writing music before he started working with cameras. Growing up he was very into acting and anime. At the time his main goal was to learn 3D and eventually work for a studio like Dreamworks or Pixar. While at the same time he was seeing lots of success as a child actor. Landing roles in Tina Fey’s “Baby Mama”, Cinemax’s “The Knick”, as well as a few commercials on MTV and VH1.

In his college years he got into rap/r&b and started writing and producing his own tracks, eventually building enough buzz to start doing performances, features, and interviews with several music publications. After a while, Andrew chose to step back from performing. He states, “although I was seeing success in both ventures, it took away from my day job; which I was unwilling to give up at the time as I had short term goals I wanted to attain and maintain such as a car, apartment, etc.. I used to sneak out on my lunch breaks to do auditions and come back late so much that they gave me a warning, if I’m late one more time I’m fired and I took heed to that warning.”

It was around this time that he found his true calling, becoming a film maker. Early on in his media career, he was working for Sirius XM, shooting their celebrity interviews while building up his network shooting events as well. As he grew bigger, he started working with several big names in the Dancehall/Reggae world. Notably Shaggy and Kranium. His talents would eventually take him on tour with international superstar Mariah Carey. Around 2018, Andrew started his own production company, Team Elite Productions. Since then Andrew Hillmedo has become one of the biggest names in videography.  He currently has about 7 cameras in his arsenal, but the A7s III gets the most use. Constantly shooting with big brands, A list celebrities, private events, even directing commercials. He has been creating content for Essence Magazine for a few years as well and is now their editorial editor. When asked about the biggest event he shot, he said “I think Michael Rubin’s all white party takes the cake; performances by Lil Baby, Tenashe, Megan the Stallion, Quavo, etc.. Firework show, 3 floors of action, free Ace of Spades? It was a night to remember, everyone was lit! I already had a rundown of who may or may not be there but I think Beyonce being there was the most eye opening. It was very star studded, a lot of big names in the building. I’m thankful that I was called upon to capture the event.”

These days when he is not capturing moments, he can be found teaching. His advice for anyone trying to get into the film industry is build your portfolio, network, know your worth, and most importantly, be a good person. In 2022 he plans to start production on film ideas, create tutorials for those interested in getting into film and photography and continue to build up his brand. The future looks bright for Andrew Dante Hillmedo.
